I think , you can also use "schedule list" , and " schedule_details" from your spacewalk server , you need to have spacecmd installed
Below is the example.
spacecmd {SSM:0}> schedule_list
ID Date C F P Action
-- ---- --- --- --- ------
...
343 20150617T01:30:00 0 0 2 Run an arbitrary script
spacecmd {SSM:0}> schedule_details 343
ID: 343
Action: Run an arbitrary script
User: swadmin
Date: 20150617T01:30:00
Completed: 0
Failed: 0
Pending: 2
Pending Systems

svr3.mydom.com
To cancel a pending event, use the schedule_cancel command.
spacecmd {SSM:0}> schedule_cancel 343
INFO: Canceled action 343
Canceled 1 action(s)
To re-run a failed event, use the schedule_reschedule command.
spacecmd {SSM:0}> schedule_reschedule 382
Rescheduled 1 action(s)
To install spacecmd

Hi Sethu
I've raised a separate query, today, asking how to configure patching of RHEL 6/7 servers with Spacewalk. As it seems that you're already patching RHEL 7 servers, can you let me know how you've managed this please?
Sorry for hijacking your "patching notification" thread!
Regards
Phil

Robert-
-> Yes, But I am looking for patch notification alerts (mails), when patch starts is it possible to notify via mail?
-> When Patch is under progress how I can check the status (logs) from
-> CLI a least?. I know from Web interface, but it shows only in progress (how can we check current status of the patch here) for a long time How can I get notification mail/alert if patch is failed/success with error/success(list of patches applied) after completion of patch?
I appreciate if you can help me on above
Regards
Sethu

Post by Ede, Sethu MadhavHi spacewalk community-
I am new to community
When I am patching host with RHEL 7 errata from spacewalk, patch is in
pending state for a long time and I don't see any logs from GUI/CLI.
Don't know how to check the logs/status from GUI/CLI and also not
receiving any alerts/mails after completion of patching
Is there any way that we can check the status of the patching from
GUI/CLI and whether patched node can notify(via email) regarding the
status of patching either success or failures.
Regards,
Sethu
Hi Sethu,
you only see the status of the Patch "process", if you scheduled the patches from the Web interface onto the clients.
You can then see the status within Web interface on the client at "system" -> events -> pending or history.
If you just run "yum upgrade" on the client, you won't see anything within Web interface. You'll only notice, that the package list has updated and there should not be any package to be upgraded anymore.
Hope that helped.
Robert
